Prince Nnamdi Ekeh receives double honour in the UK.

Recently, joy and celebrations engulfed the Ubommiri town in Mbaitoli LGA Imo State as an illustrious son of the community who himself is the son of another illustrious son and perhaps the most popular man of the community Leo Stan Ekeh. The good news was that young and vibrant Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, an Oxford trained tech wizkid was honoured with the highly prestigious Forbes and EuroKnowledge Award in faraway UK.

Prince Ekeh bagged two prestigious awards: the Forbes Best of Africa E-Commerce Leadership Award 2025 and the Distinguished EuroKnowledge Award for Emerging Leadership in Digital Transformation. According to Umuaka Times reporters, the recognitions stem from his visionary leadership in building lasting institutions that drive Africa’s digital economy and his groundbreaking impact in revolutionizing African e-commerce through Konga Group, where he’s successfully merged digital retail with brick-and-mortar stores.”Umuaka Times correspondents gathered that Prince Nnamdi Ekeh embarked on innovative entrepreneurship which is creating a hybrid model that promotes inclusivity, trust, and measurable social impact. The Konga Group has also through her social corporate responsibility been improving lives through digital infrastructure, education and job creation initiatives across Nigeria.
The awards which indeed celebrate the exceptional contributions of Prince Nnamdi Ekeh to Africa’s digital landscape and entrepreneurial ecosystem, are seen as a strong milestone as he is the first young African to win such awards at under 30 years of age.
According to This Day newspaper while celebrating the awards, the newspaper prominently noted that “Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, Group Chief Executive Officer of Konga Group, stands tall as a refreshing exception, a beacon of genuine leadership. He is a young visionary whose quiet brilliance and transformational leadership are rewriting Africa’s digital story. At just under 30, this Oxford-trained entrepreneur has accomplished what even seasoned business titans dream of — and now, the world has taken note.”
The award presentation which was held at the prestigious House of Lords London, Prince Ekeh, the man of the moment made history on the sand of time as the youngest African to bag two globally recognized awards in a single night; Distinguished EuroKnowledge Award for Emerging Leadership in Digital Transformation and Forbes Best of Africa E-Commerce Leadership Award 2025.
Umuaka Times gathered that the event was reportedly attended by business leaders, highly respected global policymakers, social and tech innovators as well as Leo Stan Nnamdi Ekeh, the proud father of Prince Nnamdi Ekeh.
Talking about the honours, Prince Ekeh’s achievements were described by Forbes and EuroKnowledge as “a celebration of visionary courage and transformative impact.”
Prince Nnamdi Ekeh is the first son of Leo Stan and Lady Chioma Ekeh. They are the Africa’s foremost digital entrepreneurial couple and the brain behind Zinox Group and TD Africa which is reputed as Africa’s largest tech distribution firm.
Prince Nnamdi Ekeh began his successful business journey at the age of 19 when he was a student at the University of Lancaster. He developed the famous Yudala business initiative, a foremost e-commerce platform. The firm ended up employing several young Nigerians before it acquired Konga in 2018 and eventually a merger of the two firms was established under the Prince.
A newspaper recently reportedly that “Today, Konga stands as a pillar of innovation, spanning fintech (KongaPay), logistics (Konga Logistics), healthcare (Konga Health), and travel (Konga Travel and Tours). The company serves over four million customers and about two million merchants; an ecosystem that reflects Ekeh’s belief in what he calls “commercial scale with social soul.””
Umuaka Times gathered that a cross section of Nigerian dignitaries attended the event. Such personalities included Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani; NAFDAC Director-General, Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq, wife of the Kwara State Governor; Professor Mojisola Adeyeye. There were other high profile personalities at the event from other countries such as the co-founder of Reebok co-founder, Joe Foster and Dragons’ Den star, Richard Faileigh. The two individuals were also honored during the event.

Leo Stan Ekeh is a native of Ubomiri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. His full name is Leonard Stanley Nnamdi Ekeh and he is a foremost digital businessman, investor and philanthropist. He recently donated ₦20 million to Charly Boy Foundation, to champion prostate health awareness in Nigeria.
