Sancta Maria Secondary School launches skills acquisitions program.
1 min readThe Sancta Maria Secondary School, a Catholic missionary school located in Umuaka Njaba LGA has launched a skills acquisition initiative for both the students and non-students in the community. The initiative which includes automobile mechanics, IT studies and more, was designed by the school to assist students manage their time well and make money for themselves after undergoing some training.
The most interesting attribute of the program is the automobile aspect which was launched in collaboration with the Lady Mechanic Initiative of Nigeria founded by Mrs Sandra Aguebor, the first woman mechanic in Nigeria and the entire Africa.
From a closed door discussion Umuaka Times had with the principal of the school, Rev Father Kelechi Thaddeus Onyenedum, the initiative has already been communicated to some great sons and daughters of Umuaka and a good number of them has given the initial support required to institutionalize the program in the school.
Rev Father Kelechi Thaddeus Onyenedum also disclosed to the audience that some students from other nearby schools in Umuaka have already identified with the program.
The Sancta Maria skills acquisitions program is an initiative which runs for a period of 1 year where each student is expected to register with the sum of N10,000 per term. For those who may like to support or identify with the program, inquiries can be made at Sancta Maria Secondary School.
