“St Saviour’s still under Orlu Diocese.” School Principal.
2 min readThe principal of St Saviour’s Secondary School Umuaka Rev Father Charles Anagwo has granted a very short interview to Umuaka Times over the purported takeover of St Saviour’s Secondary School Umuaka by th Federal Government of Nigeria. Although the Rev Father first told Umuaka Times that he was not the most competent person to speak on the development but he also further stressed that the school still belongs to the Catholic Church in Orlu Diocese.
When the Umuaka Times reporter who visited the school met the principal when he was about driving out, he first demanded to know the identity of the reporter. After an introduction by the reporter, he was asked if actually the school has been taken over by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the priest replied saying, “if I am on interview, I will simply tell you that I am not the competent person to say anything about it now but you should know that whatever happened that day was something mere political. At the moment, the school still belongs to the Church and it is still St Saviour’s Secondary School Umuaka and St Saviour’s Secondary School Umuaka cannot be taken away just like that.”
When Umuaka Times tried to get more facts from the priest by asking if any consensus or MOU signed, the priest told the reporter to take what he has just said and still maintained that the school is still the property of the Church.
