Stop killing and eating eke Njaba.” Nze Marcel Obiagwu warns foreigners.

1 min read

The Chief Priest and General Overseer of Eziokwu Afor Umuaka deity, Nze Marcel Obiagwu has appealed to foreigners living in Umuaka to stop killing and eating eke Njaba, a sacred reptile that is considered a taboo for anyone to kill or eat in Njaba, Isu LGAs and many other communities across Igboland. In the recent times, there have been reports that foreigners, both Igbo and non-Igbo residents living and doing their businesses in Umuaka have been killing and eating the reptile otherwise known as eke Njaba.

Nze Obiagwu who dropped this hint last week during a recorded video interview with Umuaka Times, also disclosed that both Eziokwu and Njaba were not happy about the ugly development.

“I am aware that some foreigners living in Umuaka now kill and eat eke secretly. They should stop it immediately. If they fail to do so, anyone we get hold of, must pay dearly for it.”

Obiagwu also told Umuaka Times that he has spiritually spoken to the whole eke Njaba in Umuaka to move to Njaba River for their own safety.

“Using a spiritual medium, I have directed them to move to Njaba River because our town Umuaka has developed and the number of foreigners living with us is on the increase daily. These foreigners, according to their own culture, kill and eat eke. We will never allow such a cultural abrasion to take place here.”
