The Last Journey of Ezinne Harriet Ihenacho.
2 min readThursday, December 30, 2021 was a very eventful day in Umuele Amazano Njaba LGA Imo State. On that day the children of the late Lady Lolo Harriet Ihenacho, a business woman, old time politician, Christian mother and a household name among women in Amazano and beyond was laid to rest. When Umuaka Times arrived at the family compound of the Ihenachos that morning. the atmosphere was highly electrifying and many people had already dressed in different uniforms waiting for the arrival of the very important woman of substance.
Although the ambulance arrived late because the motorcade made a stopover outside Njaba LGA before arriving Amazano. Based on that, it affected other activities including the requiem Mass. After a brief lying in state, at the Ihenacho compound, the procession and motorcade went straight to St Mathew’s Anglican Church Amazano where the church service was held for the repose of her soul. Because of the type of woman and the type of life Lolo Ihenacho lived, the number of officiating ministers foe the church service was 35including Rev BC Okeke JP, the Bishop of Orlu Diocese. Very Rev CCB Okorie JP, Dean of the Cathedral and Ven. Godwin Emeh JP, Archdeacon of Njaba South.
One of the officiating priests who delivered the sermon spoke on wide range of issues concerning life and death, sin and righteousness and heaven and hell. He appealed to the congregation to always put God first as Lolo Ihenacho did during her life time.
Shortly after this, the church came to an end and the whole congregation went back to the Ihenacho family compound where the late Lady Ezinne Lolo Harriet Ihekwereze Ihenacho nee Nwakanma Njekwu was laid to eternal rest. She was born in 1936 and she died in 2021. She was aged 84.
