It is on record that she never tasted academic education but to a very large extent, the late madam Okeziri lived a life that her people would always be proud of. It is based on this that on Saturday 5 August 6, 2023, several individuals, church bodies and many more organizations came to pay their last respect for the woman who lived for a long period of 97 years.
On this eventful day, many people had gone to the mortuary section of Umuaka Community Hospital to bring back her remains to her family compound in Umulolo Umuezeala Uba Umuaka for interment.
As early as 7 am, some of her children and other family members had gone for this particular mission and in about an hour’s time, they were back home and the final journey just began. When the white SUV ambulance vehicle conveying her remains pulled in the family compound, many people both old and young came out to witness and pay their last tribute to a woman many called mama.
In few minutes time, the remains of Mrs Francisca Okeziri were laid in-state for people to see her for the last time. First, the immediate family members went to see her and others followed.
In about 30 minutes time, the master of ceremony announced that it was time for the requiem Mass booked for her at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka. Again the motorcade left for the church service where the Mass was held in her honour.
The officiating priest while preaching talked about life and death and how followers should live their life. She used the life lived by the deceased as a good example of what he was talking about. He appealed and prayed to God to forgive her of her sins and accept her soul in Heaven.
When the church service came to an end, the congregation again took a trip to Umulolo Uba where the burial of the late Mrs Francisca Nwaijuru Ogbenyealu Okeziri nee Ukajim was finally took place after an eventful life that started in 1926.
