The Oduezes remember mum in grand style.

The above quote was the guarding principle the late Dame Mrs Cathy Odueze became very popular with during her years as the leader of several community and church groups in Imo State. Just as time flies so quick, the family left behind by the amiable woman of substance marked one year remembrance for the great matriarch of the Odueze family on January 3rd 2023. First, the family went to church with friends and well wishers who were touched in one way or the other by the benevolence of Mrs Odueze during her lifetime. When the church service ended, the event shifted to the country homes of the Oduezes.
Because the event was such a highly classic remembrance anniversary, the publisher of Umuaka Times stormed the event with two reporters in order to make sure that every aspect of the ceremony was totally captured. The Umuaka Times team on getting to the Odueze family compound, immediately observed that it was like a meeting of who is who in America especially Dallas. Mr Ifeanyi Iwuoha, a Dallas based Akalite told Umuaka Times that those who came from America to be with one of their brothers, Chief Emeka Odueze are 96 percent Dallas based Akalites.
Umuaka Times gathered from other sources that the big number of several Akalites and non-Akalites who came to celebrate and thank God with the Oduezes included those who live across Europe, Canada, Asia, African countries and Nigeria as well. The event was indeed a great reunion of high profile Akalites.
Chief Emeka Odueze who is one of the children of the late Dame Odueze was several times seen by Umuaka Times personally attending to most of his guests. So too was Engineer Cajethan Odueze, one of the children of the late Mrs Dame Cathy Odueze was even busier than Chief Emeka Odueze who is better known by his chieftaincy title name of Nwakaibeye.
The one year remembrance of Dame Cathy Odueze achieved a great success in re-uniting several Akalites who have not seen themselves in decades.
While speaking with Umuaka Times during the event, the Dallas based attorney, Chief Emeka Odueze thanked his friends and others for finding time out of their new year tight schedule to stay with them. He asked God to continue to protect and bless those of them who made it to the event and those that could not make it also.
Efforts to speak with other members of the family were not successful as they were said to be very busy.
