Tribute to My Ever Caring Mother. By Nav. Chap. Chukwuemeka Victor Uche.

3 min read

It is with deep sense of loss, pain and anguish, but with total submission to the supreme will of the Almighty God that I write this tribute today.

The news of your sudden demise on that fateful morning came to me with a rude shock and with utmost disbelief. I never knew that at this point I will be writing a tribute of this nature to you my beloved mother after having a peaceful, fruitful and glorious stay with you for a period of one year in Abuja . There was no challenge that calls for worries knowing fully well you were strong the last time I spoke with you few days before your unfortunate demise.

I was highly flabbergasted, disillusioned and perplexed at your sudden demise, as it came hastily, quickly, without warning. However, we take solace and consolation on the impactful, remarkable and good lifestyle you bequeathed to us.

You were a core disciplinarian of high repute. You were an upright and fearless woman, highly accommodating and liberal to a fault . You were a rallying point to so many.

Mma was a great and dogged fighter who never gave up and would never take no for an answer. She fought several manner of sickness that held her bound to a standstill, though she finally bowed down to the cold hands of death that fateful morning, but not to sickness and disease. She practically overcame them as she was very sound and healthy prior to her glorious exit.

As I sit here and look at the empty shells that remain, so many thoughts raised through my mind. This is the woman who invested countless hours in raising me and my other eight (8) siblings. Any success we have experienced at any level today is traceable to her and my late dad and as a matter of fact, should be credited to their unwavering commitment as parents.

Her dogged and relentless commitment have in no small measure sharpened us to becoming great and enviable entities today. You were an astute leader who understands the value and virtue of truth as a great unfailing weapon in the journey of life that earned you the name ” EZIOKWU BU NDU ” (TRUTH IS LIFE).

Today, there are great testimonies and witnesses of your Philanthropic attributes that earned you “OCHIRI OZUO” (A HELPER OF THE LESS PRIVILEDGED). You were indeed a great woman of valor.

Even as we are deeply saddened at your exit today, we are consoled by your positive foot prints on the sand of time and indelible mark of assurance that positively affected your world.

There are two kinds of people in life, those that are remembered for problems created and those for problem solved. Those that negatively affected their world and those that positively affected their world also. Indeed you affected your world positively as a solution to your world.

Our utmost joy is that you ended well in the race of life as a good Christian. Thank you so much for all the values and virtues you inculcated in us that have practically molded us to great personalities.

We will indeed miss your motherly love and care. Rest on beloved mother and continue to enjoy the paradise of peace and harmony.

Your beloved son,

Nav. Chap. Chukwuemeka Victor Uche.
