UCH: Collins Nwokorom commends Ndi Eze; calls for more actions.

A former administrator of Umuaka Community Hospital UCH Mr Collins Nwokorom has commended the Amiyi Autonomous Community and Umuaka Ebe Iri Council of Traditional Rulers for reaching an accord with other autonomous communities and stakeholders in Umuaka over the state of Umuaka Community Hospital UCH. Speaking with Umuaka Times correspondent over the weekend, Nwokorom appealed to both parties to sustain the peaceful atmosphere and finalize positively on what to do with the hospital which has been out of order for over 20 years.
Citing an interview HRH Eze Caesar Duruegbusuo, the chairman of Umuaka Municipal Council, Council of Traditional Rulers granted to Umuaka Times last year where the royal father disclosed that ndi eze in Umuaka Municipal Council have saved a large sum of money from the mortuary incomes, he appealed to the royal fathers to team up with other stake holders and start renovation works at the hospital with the money saved so far from the mortuary.
Nwokorom who hails from Achara community also advocated that the doctors in Umuaka Municipal Council should also be given a responsibility at the hospital in order to make it function effectively.
Umuaka Times gathered from Nwokorom that during the short period he was the head of administration at the hospital, he was able to present excellent accounts to the community. “The little I was able to make from the hospital was what I used to pay salaries to doctors, nurses and other workers.”
About the facilities at the hospital, Nwokorom went further to disclose to Umuaka Times that he was the person who restored electricity to the hospital when it was disconnected from the hospital by NEPA engineers. He also told Umuaka Times that he was to make more money for the hospital if things had worked well during his era at UCH.
Nwokorom finally prayed to God to give the royal fathers and other stakeholders in Umuaka Municipal Council the wisdom to arrive at a favorable compromise and over the state of the hospital so as to benefit the people of Umuaka Municipal Council who laboured and built the health centre.
