Chief Ugo Johnson Anyiam, a renowned lawyer based in South Africa and the principal consultant of Anyiam Attorneys Incorporated last week beamed with pride as he extended his warmest congratulations to Eze Ojinnaka, the newly enthroned royal father of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom in Njaba LGA Imo State. In a heartfelt press statement he issued last week to Umuaka Times, Chief Anyiam praised Eze Ojinnaka’s wisdom, integrity and vision for the Ancient Kingdom of Umuaka.

As a respected native and high profile stakeholder in Umuaka community, Chief Anyiam in the press statement emphasized the importance of rallying behind the new royal father HRM Eze Henry Izuchukwu Ojinnaka who obtained his staff of office from the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on March 22, 2025 at Government House Owerri with 62 other royal fathers. Chief Anyiam who is the president of Igbo Lawyers Association of South Africa ILASA, urged the community to unite in support of Eze Ojinnaka’s new mandate, saying, “Together, we can build a brighter future for our kingdom and generations yet unborn.”

Umuaka Times correspondents in South Africa confirmed that Chief Anyiam’s words echoed the sentiments of the community, who had gathered to witness the historic presentation of the staff of office to the young royal father Eze Henry Ojinnaka. Throughout last week, local affairs correspondents of Umuaka Times observed that the atmosphere in Uba Umuaka was filled with excitement and anticipation as the people of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom looked forward to a new era of growth and development under the wise, just and new leadership of their young royal father who is coming to the throne with fresh ideas.

As the governor of the state presented the staff of office to HRM Eze Henry Ojinnaka, he was surrounded by the people of the community and the trappings of tradition and culture, a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Umuaka Ancient Kingdom. Diverse opinions sought by Umuaka Times before press time last week confirmed that Chief Anyiam’s congratulatory message conveyed a strong testament to the unshakable bonds and tradition that tied the people of Umuaka together.

In the spirit of unity and cooperation, Chief Anyiam finally called upon Umuezeala, Ndiuhu, Umuezikeukwu and Umuezikoha communities to work together with the new Eze Ojinnaka to address the challenges facing the kingdom. Hear him in is own words: “Let us join hands to build a better future for ourselves, our children and generations to come.”

Another critical area the press statement touched was the area of the community not having a cabinet. “As far as I know, we do not have an eze’s cabinet yet and I want our Eze to immediately constitute a cabinet and share offices accordingly with equity and justice so that every village will feel a sense of belonging. Remember, we are the first and we are all expected to take the lead for others to follow and emulate.”
