2 min readHigh profile Akalite, businessman and a South African based attorney, Chief Ugo Johnson Anyiam alongside the honourable member representing Njaba LGA in Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Hon Ebonine Beneath Ozioma also known as Ozioma Worship has embarked on a 6 month intensive training for young Akalites on coding and digital education.
This information was obtained in a press statement issued last week by Chief Anyiam himself who is the principal consultant at Anyiam Attorneys Inc. in Sandton, South Africa when the South African correspondent of Umuaka Times called on him. According to what Chief Anyiam disclosed to Umuaka Times, the internet coding empowerment program will be handled by GetBundi Education Technology, a famous technology hub and “educational platform designed to deliver high-quality, engaging and accessible Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects for post-primary school education and Digital Skills Courses for youths across Africa.”
With the goal of GetBundi which is “to make quality STEM and Digital Skills learning across Africa accessible to everyone using technology,” it is strongly believed that the first set of students for the internet coding empowerment program will achieve excellent results within the duration of the 6 months course.
Umuaka Times also gathered that 12 students carefully selected across Umuaka who will benefit from the training will have online live classes and masterclass with experts.
The training Umuaka Times gathered, will also involve a monthly performance based assessments program for the students during the time of the course and the cost for the program has been carefully put at N300, 000 per trainee.
Chief Anyiam who spoke with Umuaka Times in an exclusive interview over the weekend, reminded the newspaper why Umuaka youths should not be left out of the global technological revolution: “IT is the present and the future, it is a direction the world is headed when you speak of employment and general economic empowerment, our community should therefore not be left behind.”
GetBundi Technology founder, Osita Oparaugo while reacting to the development, thanked the duo of Anyiam and Ebonine for their love and support for the youths of their community. “We believe that Nigerian youths possess the ability and creativity to lead the African digital transformation if given the best chances to learn, which is why we developed GetBundi platform and crafted the courses to help them learn and commercialize innovation.” He further described the empowerment program as a life changing opportunity for the selected beneficiaries and appealed to many other Nigerians to emulate the patriotic footsteps of the two gentlemen.
