Umuaka born Nigerian student in Ghana wins awards.

Little Miss Jessica Nwanyanwu, a Nigerian secondary school student in Ghana has shined above her fellow students in the former Gold Coast West African country where she won awards from her in a national entertainment competition. Umuaka Times correspondent in Ghana reports that 15 year old Jessica who is the daughter of Mazi John Ogadimma (Ogbuorie) and Joy Uchechi Nwanyanwu from Umuduruoji Acharaji Akah in Umuaka Municipal Council of Njaba LGA Imo State Nigeria, won the Overall Entertainment Personality of the Year Award and the Best Dancer of the Year Award across all the secondary schools in Ghana.

The journey to success was very hectic and competitive as many students across Ghana took part in the contest. First, there were several categories and each category had its best performer. When eventually all the best performers emerged, the contest was set among them and Jessica emerged the overall best across the country.

When Umuaka Times called on the father of the award winning Jessica who is a student of St Martin’s Senior High School (SS 1 in Nigeria), he expressed deep happiness over the joy his daughter has brought to the family, her school and to Nigerians living in Ghana.

Umuaka Times gathered that Jessica who is deeply talented in dancing has been asking her parents to put her in a dancing school until recently when she was honored with the awards.

Dancing, according to the parents of Jessica Nwanyanwu is the hobby she cherishes so well after she discovered her talent in the art of dancing. Jessica hopes to read banking and finance to enable her become a banker in future. The competition which brought Jessica to the national limelight was organized by the Moon Republic Entertainment and the National High School Entertainment Award, together with High School Jams. Her friends at school and the entire students and the staff of St Martin’s Senior High School Accra Ghana have been celebrating her for bringing honours to the school.
