The prominent and charity and aid-giving organization in Umuaka named Umuaka Charity Foundation has clocked 2 years. The organization which was founded by Mazi Iwuaku Iwuchukwu, a foremost philanthropist of Ugbele Akah extraction and a businessman based in Angola was launched on 9 April 2023.
From its inception, the organization has made a huge impact in the community by offering financial assistance to some students from economically weak families to register for their WAEC and NECO examinations. Umuaka Charity Foundation has also reached out to many other Akalites in times of their need.
Currently, the Umuaka Charity Foundation embarked on a project to empower 100 youths selected from across Umuaka Municipal Council. The 100 youths are being empowered with the sum of N500,000 each to enable them go into livestock farming.
From Umuaka Times investigations, about 16 persons have benefitted from the program. The reason only 16 persons have been empowered so far is due to lack of funds. According to the sources that spoke with Umuaka Times last week, plans are on top gear to empower 4 more persons in the first batch of the program.
