Umuaka Charity Foundation names ambassadors.
2 min readUmuaka Charity Foundation in her bid to empower 100 less privileged and talented youths in Umuaka by January 2025 has named 10 ambassadors drown from each autonomous community in Umuaka. The information regarding the selection of 10 ambassadors was made available to Umuaka Times last week when the local affairs correspondents of the newspaper paid an official visit at the corporate headquarters of the community based foundation located at Omee Plaza near Afor Umuaka.
According to an employee of the foundation who spoke with Umuaka Times reporters during the visit, the ambassadors were selected from each of the 10 communities in Umuaka who will help to navigate the affairs of the foundation.
It can be recalled that the foundation which was founded by Mazi Iwuaku Iwuchukwu, a businessman based in Angola, has concluded plans to empower 100 youths in the entire Umuaka community. The estimate for the entire program is put at N50 million. Umuaka Times gathered that the program has been tailored to empower 100 youths in different types of farming programs.
In order to achieve this, the foundation has set aside an online launching program where some selected Akalites are expected to make freewill donations with the purpose of achieving the expected target by December this year.
Although the names of the selected ambassadors were not made available to Umuaka Times because some were yet to confirm their acceptance of the offer, but the employee who spoke with Umuaka Times expressed deep optimism that those who have not responded would do that very soon.
Chief Iwuaku Iwuchukwu was made the Umuaka Times Man of the Year 2023 as a result of his commitment towards alleviating poverty in Umuaka town. He has already made a donation of N2million to the program.
