Umuaka Development Foundation begins operations in Uba.
2 min readLast week, the publisher of Umuaka Times, Darlington Ojy Onwukwe announced the birth of Umuaka (Uba) Development Foundation UDA. The foundation according to the voice message he issued the moment he made the announcement, went further to explain in details what the foundation was all about. Onwukwe who is working in conjunction with the stakeholders of the community told the audience that every development in the community especially the security issues will be centered and properly discussed on the floor of Umuaka Development Foundation as an umbrella group uniting the sons and daughters of the community both in and outside the country.
Some indigenes of the community who have so far expressed their joy on the birth o the group hailed the initiative and called for maximum support from the people. The list includes Mr Mansay Osigidi, Ms Oby Ezeigbo, Mr Chidi Iwuoha, Mr Chidi Duruji, Mr Obinna Obi, Miss Oluchi Udeagwu, Mr Daniel Ehirim, Mr Ephraim Okezirim and Hon Emma Izunwa.
An Uba born Port Harcourt based engineer, Mr Emeka Onwukwe hailed the establishment of the foundation and prayed for the success of its objectives. “This is an excellent step, quite a commendable initiative. Very encouraging to see there are already 124 participants in this forum, a numerical strength capable to achieve whatever target set. May God bless the purpose of this forum.”
More positive reactions were still coming in to the new group as at press time last week as many people were noticing their presence in the group. Discussions are already going concerning the group at certain quarters on how to set up an active security outfit and its management procedures.
