Umuaka Super City contest gathers momentum.
2 min readThe ongoing global Mayor’s Challenge which Umuaka Municipal Council is among the 50 shortlisted super cities in the world has taken a more serious dimension. The Umuaka Nigeria Super City has the following Akalites as its drivers. Lesley Agams, Executive Director Women’s Crisis Centre, Dr C-Fine Okorochukwu, Executive Director Centre for Public Health. Chief Noel Oguike, the president-general of Umuaka presidents-general, Chief Bob Dike, the founder and executive director Core Step financial institution and Darlington Ojy Onwukwe, publisher Umuaka Times newspaper.
These selected drivers according to what Umuaka Times gathered, have assembled among themselves, an excellent roadmap towards hitting the $1 million star prize which will be used for the development of the community following the proposal sent to Bloomberg which has been approved by the Bloomberg Foundation, the organizers of the program. The team according to facts made available to Umuaka Times has been meeting on Zoom and pushing up fresh ideas on how to deeply internationalize the Super City Umuaka Nigeria and transform the city.
On another hand, the PG of PGs, Chief Noel Oguike has been meeting with the locals especially women leaders and some presidents-general on the role they are expected to play. Last week, epic pictures were taken by the PG of PGs and some of his team members. Several ideas and new updates were also noted last week by the entire team members.
For now, the Umuaka Nigeria local team has gone to work and a lot of efforts is being put in place to actualize the dream of the community and win the star Bloomberg prize of $1 million.
