Umuaka Ward 1 Councillorship: Enters the aspirant number 6.

Last week witnessed yet another entrant into the political field of Umuaka Ward 1 bringing the number of those interested in Umuaka Ward 1 councillorship position to 5 aspirants from Achara community and 6 in the entire Umuaka Ward 1. Ambassador Stephen Chigozie Ononobi, an Achara born youthful politician joined the Umuaka Ward 1race for councillorship which came as a big surprise to many. Ononobi who is a member of SDP is the state chairman of Young Political Foundation and National Youth Force NYF, explained to Umuaka Times last week why he joined the SDP.
From the representations Ambassador Ononobi made to Umuaka Times last week, the young politician who is the youngest among the contestants disclosed that his political party SDP gave him the listening ear he had always craved for and created a conducive atmosphere for him to pursue his ambition. “SDP gave me a listening ear and gave me a comfortable scenario to pursue my ambition.”
Asked to explain why he thinks he would win the election with a party that has no solid structure on the ground, the high profile politician plainly told Umuaka Times that the youths of Umuaka Ward 1 are his structure. “I am the youngest among the contestants and it shows that the youths are solidly behind me in this pursuit.”
Disclosing his strategy on how to win the election, Ambassador Ononobi told Umuaka Times that what ensures victory in elections lies in the candidate and his roadmap for development and for that, he is young, capable and with a vision and verifiable roadmap.
Meanwhile political observers in Njaba Ward 1 especially Achara community have expressed some frustrations on why 5 aspirants came from the community. In their views as suggested by some top voices in the community last week, the call for a consensus aspirant especially the APC is urgently needed in the community. Ambassador Ononobi is lucky enough that he is the only person from the SDP vying for the ticket in Umuaka Ward 1.
