“Umuuaka blood runs in my veins.” Onyebuchi Nwokike.
2 min readThe American based son of Chief Dona and Cecilia Nwokike, Mr Onyebuchi Nwokike has expressed his deep thanks for the love the people of Umuaka have so far shown to him, his parents and siblings for several decades to settled in Umuaka since the 70s. Mr Nwokike made this disclosure to Umuaka Times during the burial of the South African based lawyer, Sir Henry Oguike in Uba Umuaka last week. While speaking with Umuaka Times, he described the love several Akalites both old and young have so far demonstrated towards their family as divine.”Do you know that any family I enter in Umuaka and introduce myself as the son of Nwamma Maternity, they spoil me with love and gifts? The same thing is applicable to my other siblings.”
Onyebuchi as he is properly addressed by his family and friends, described Umuaka as a holy land of God and appealed to motorcycle boys who engage in several anti-social activities to desist from such before it is too late for them.”Do you know that when I go outside, I claim Umuaka origin? Even when I was in South Africa, I belonged to Umuaka union and even till today, I belong to many Umuaka whatsapp groups. You can see that the precious blood of Umuaka people runs in my veins as well.”
In his final statement, he told Umuaka Times that there has never been food and there will be no food for any lazy Umuaka guy. “When you come here and notice how the youths are leaving no stones unturned to balance themselves economically, you will have no option than to join the moving train. That is one good talent you commonly find in Umuaka which is rare in other communities across Igboland.” He used the opportunity to thank all Akalites who stood with the Nwokike family during the burial of Chief Dona Nwokike in Okporo Orlu a couple of months ago.
