Uzoma Ahamefule calls for stronger central security unit in Umuaka.
1 min readUK based Akalite and the president of Akah Sigmite Club, Chief Uzoma Ahamefule has advocated for a strong central security outfit in Umuaka which will be well equipped to cover the whole of Umuaka Municipal Council otherwise known as Aka Ebe Iri. Chief Ahamefula who described himself as a well-trained security officer went further to announce that the central security body should have units and outposts scattered in some Umuaka villages especially in the areas where crimes are more likely to take place.
On the issue of each village having her own security outfit, Chief Ahamefule agrees totally with the idea but went further to announce that the security groups from each village will not be up to the standard of the central security body but they will all work together in order to achieve a sound security result for Umuaka residents. To achieve this, he suggested dividing Umuaka into four parts such as Umuaka South, Umuaka North, Umuaka East and Umuaka West. “There should be two divisions and the patrolling will be divided.”
Chief Ahamefule appealed to all Akalites to cooperate with the security bodies within their locality and fight crimes and social vices to barest minimum. He further called for more empowerment for the central security body, if the resources are there. He regretted that due to lack of resources, his advocacy may not be achieved.
