Very Darkman May Win Nobel Peace Prize.

He is not a lawyer but the lawyer in him has done more than lawyers. He is not a governor but spirit of the people’s governor in him has shown compassion more than many governors especially in moments of mass violence and senseless killings across the country. He is also not a public office holder but Nigerians trust him more than their public office holders. The Very Darkman is not a pastor but he has demonstrated love to victims of social disorganizations more than many high profile and private jet men of God.
As Peter Obi would say, the list can go on and on; the 1994 Edo State born Very Darkman whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse has successfully created an image for himself to the extent that people now prefer his assistance than the EFCC in moments of reporting and petitioning financial crimes.
During an editorial meeting of Umuaka Times newspaper, someone described the Very Darkman as the reincarnation of the late Gani Fawehinmi and another quipped, “Very Darkman combines the fearlessness of Gani Fawehinmi and the energy of Fela Anikulakpo in fighting for the fundamental human rights of Nigerians.”

Umuaka Times is of the strong opinion that if VDM as he is fondly called continues with the pace of his activism, he will be announced the winner of Nobel Peace Prize in the next nearest future.
Mrs Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan environmentalist and political activist, in 2004, when VDM was just 10 years old was announced the winner of Nobel Peace Prize thereby making her the first African woman to win such a globally prestigious prize. If Maathai who passed away on 25 September 2011 could win Nobel Prize by merely planting flowers and campaigning for institutionalized democratic ideology in her country through her Green Belt Movement, VDM who has achieved a lot in just about two years in his social media influencing and activism is 100 times more qualified to be the first Nigerian to bring home the Nobel Peace Prize to Nigeria.
Umuaka Times observed that critics of the Nobel Foundation are of the view that the foundation is perhaps in the habit of denying Nigerians the prizes. In the year 2000, the erudite professor of literature, the late Chinua Achebe was denied the prize and the prize was awarded to Gao Xingjian, a Chinese writer.
Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan environmentalist won Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for merely planting flowers in Kenya.
Of all the pro bono cases he did and of all his crusades to make Nigeria a better country which put him into deep conflicts with successive military governments in the country, Chief Gani Fawehinmi never got the Nobel Peace Prize until his death on September 5 2009.
Umuaka Times calls on positive thinking Nigerian professors, journalists and other highly placed individuals who admire good governance to ensure that Martins Vincent Otse, a detribalized Nigerian who was born in Northern Nigeria brings home the Nobel Prize for Peace as soon as possible.
According to a document Umuaka Times came across in the cause of this report, “Otse gained mainstream attention in 2022 following his associations with Nigerian celebrities. He gained more attention after uploading controversial videos on his social media handle, particularly on Instagram. In June 2023, Nigerian singer Davido followed him on Instagram and publicly endorsed him. Otse was subsequently nominated for Silverbird’s Most Influential Social Media Influencer of the Year award.”
Very Darkman on his path to global fame.
The document continued: “Otse was arrested in March 2024 on allegations of cyberbullying and cyberstalking, including false accusations against Nigerian actresses and officials. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in police custody until his hearing on May 29, 2024. After two weeks in detention, he was released. In June 2024, he was arrested again at his Abuja residence on defamation charges related to a social media exposé. Otse was questioned by police on June 30, 2024, regarding defamation allegations and released shortly after. No arrest was made, contrary to initial reports.”
Several face-offs have come the way of VDM and more are expected as far as the spirit of Gani Fewehinmi still roars in him.
