Ugoeze Vera Ahanotu, the First Lady of Amiyi Akah, has extended her heartfelt appreciation to all who attended the academic empowerment program held on January 6, 2026, at Town School Amiyi Akah. The event, organized by Nzuko Ndi Lolo Amiyi Akah, aimed to provide essential writing materials to pupils and students from Town School and St. Saviour’s Secondary School both in Amiyi Akah.
In a press statement she made available to Umuaka Times, Ugoeze Ahanotu thanked the Almighty God for the program’s success and acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, including HRH Eze Francis Ahanotu and HRH Eze Kenjul Uzoho. She also appreciated the efforts of Nzuko Ndi Lolo Amiyi Akah members who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event which was first of its kind in the entire Umuaka Municipal Council.
The organization, founded in December 2023, held its first physical meeting at the palace of Eze Francis Ahanotu in December 2025. After months of planning, they successfully executed the empowerment program, distributing academic materials to pupils and students.
Ugoeze Ahanotu highlighted the organization’s achievements, including erecting a fence at the Amiyi Akah Community Town Hall and extending support to neighboring communities. The program also introduced a scholarship scheme for primary six pupils at Town School Amiyi Akah.
On the task ahead and the future of the organization, the Ugoeze expressed optimism and anticipated significant milestones in Amiyi Akah and Imo State within the next decade.
A document obtained by Umuaka Times from the organization reveals the organization’s leadership structure, with Ugoeze Vera Ahanotu, the Queen Mother of Amiyi Akah Autonomous Community is the president of the distinguished women’s organization. Lolo Ify Esomeonu (Ugoeze’s PA), Dr. Lolo Chidimma Ekwunazu (Chief Protocol Officer), Lolo Nonye Duru (Ugoeze’s Secretary), Lolo Linda Ugbaja and Lolo Ahumaraeze.
The executive members are Lolo A.C Nwosu (Chairlady), Lolo Ifeyinya Obilo (Secretary General), Lolo Udochi Amakiri (Assistant Secretary General), Lolo Chikodi Obioha (PRO), Lolo Monica Obiefule (Financial Secretary), Nwaiwu Stella (provost), Gertrude Duruolumba (provost).
The event held at the premises of Town School Amiyi Akah on January 6 2026 showcased the commitment of Nzuko Ndi Lolo Amiyi Akah to the development of education and community building in Amiyi Akah and other communities in Umuaka Ebe Iri and beyond.
