The Dioribe Amiyi Akah born dangerous, and lanky footballer, Iwuamanam Chidubem Vincent has explained to Umuaka Times why his village football team, the Dioribe FC lost the finals of the Amiyi Akah Unity Cup by 2 goals to 1 in a match played on Sunday, 12 January 2025 at Amiyi Akah Township Stadium.
Speaking with Umuaka Times correspondents last week on the failure of his team to take home the prestigious cup, Iwuamanam lamented that his team lost because they were in a hurry to capture victory because they had won the cup previously.
“You know, when the game started, our opponents were the first to score and I drew their attention to our hurriedness to score. Our boys still did not listen to me as they continued to be in a hurry to score.”
According to the ace footballer, his team mates abandoned their wings in a hurried bid to score goals even after he had equalized the goals to 1-1.
Iwuamanam complained that his team also failed to utilize all their talents and skills correctly during the final soccer. He also acknowledged that their opponents realized this sad flaw from his team and managed their skills constructively by playing collective football which eventually gave them victory.
Despite the failure of his team to emerge victorious, Iwuamanam used the opportunity and congratulated the Diokpokowa FC on her victory and eventually informed them that by December 2025, the cup will inevitably come back to them.
