A large number of Akalites especially those from Achara community arrived the Emeke Agbala village of Naze in Owerri North LGA Imo State in order to witness the celebrated burial of the late Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu. The event which was held on Friday 11 October 2024 was hitch-free as Akalites used the opportunity to explore the positive sides of the community.

The man behind the invitation of several Akalites who went for the burial was Chief Okey Ugwoegbu, the Ugwumba 1 of Umuaka who married the first daughter of the late Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu.

Umuaka Times gathered that despite some private cars that left Umuaka on their own for the burial ceremony, four buses also left for the event from Umuaka.

Speaking with Chief Ugwumba during the burial ceremony, he confirmed to Umuaka Times that his father in-law was like a biological father to him and he had to make sure that Umuaka people would witness the burial of his amiable father in-law who played a major role in his life and blessed him like a son.

Duru Wilbird Anyaehiwa Onyeanu who lived a better part of his life in Kano State in the Northern part of the country, died at the age of 92. He was a frontline christian father who cared and loved people who came around him during his lifetime.
