Women’s Crisis Centre, Umuaka Times hold Red Card to Political Violence workshop.

The Imo State based non-governmental organization, Women’s Crisis Centre WCC and Umuaka Times newspapers will jointly hold a workshop on Wednesday being 8 of November in Umuaka. The workshop which has been tagged Red Card to Political Violence is strictly by invitation to some selected stakeholders.
The purpose of the program is to select two stakeholders from each of the ten autonomous communities in Umuaka and build their capacity on the demerits of political violence. The stakeholders, one male one female from each village will have the responsibility of building the capacity of their youths with the behavioural change message derived from the workshop.
Two prominent Akalites in the persons of a former commissioner in the state, Chief Louis Duru and a prominent author and publisher, Mr Calistus Osunwa will have the opportunity to hold talks with the youthful participants during the workshop as facilitators.
The workshop was made possible from the sub-grant obtained from Fix Politics, a prominent advocacy group based in Abuja.
