In a similar development, an elderly American woman has reportedly sent the sum of $80,000 to her online “millionaire boyfriend” to run some certain activities. The woman simply addressed as Terri disclosed this in a TV program known as Dr. Phil which is anchored by Phillip Calvin McGraw in the United States of America. According to a report Umuaka Times monitored from New York Times, “Terri, a recent guest on “Dr. Phil,” sent nearly $80,000 to her virtual boyfriend before she realized that her relationship may not be what it seemed. Terri met “Ricardo” on Facebook Messenger two years ago. A month after they started talking, Ricardo asked Terri to invest $10,000 in Bitcoin, promising a speedy return of $1 million in six months. Terri has been sending Ricardo money ever since, with only photos and phone calls to prove that her e-boyfriend exists — but she’s never seen a penny from her investments.”
Despite all proves shown to Terri, she still strongly believed that her online lover is a rich guy who is honest.
