19 year old female author emerges from Obinwanne

Soft spoken Uzoigwe Victory Mmesoma, a 19 year old teenager has a lot of inspiring stories about her life. At just 19, the little girl is set to take the world by storm with her first book titled, the Burning Desire. The young author with a Burning Desire has a good command of French language and is skilled in other income generating activities. Hear her: “I am a seamstress, bakester, teacher and a highly skilled interior and exterior decoration expert.”

As someone who is in love with academics and academic activities, Mmesoma sat for JAMB last year and scored 241 to read medicine and surgery. In a shocking response she gave Umuaka Times last week concerning her JAMB result, she disclosed that she just took the exams for formality sake. “It was not useful to me in any way because there was no money for me to further my education.”

The poor economic background of the young author from indications poses no stumbling blocks to her. She is today one of the youngest authors in Nigeria and the entire Africa. While discussing with Umuaka Times on why she took into writing at a very young age, she responded. “It’s been more than 10 years that I have been harbouring the zeal to become an author. It’s been my Burning Desire to make a change and break record anywhere I find myself… I really make a great impact to my fellow girls and the society at large.”

In the literary world, Miss Uzoigwe Victory Mmesoma sees the late erudite Professor Chinua Achebe and Wole Soyinka as her idols and of late, Chimamanda Adichie. Mmesoma strongly believes that she has a lot of mountains to cross in writing and publishing.
