2023: Igolo drops ambition; Endorses Harrison Nwadike.
2 min readHon Mrs Uju Onwudiwe, the APC politician representing Njaba LGA in Imo State House of Assembly last week addressed a press conference in her office. In the press conference which the honourable read from her phone, several issues were raised and the main point of the press conference was to pass a special message to her followers and the Njaba indigenes she represents.
Hon Mrs Uju Onwudiwe took time and thanked those who have worked with her in her political sojourn from the beginning till where she is today. She specifically thanked the Imo State governor Hope Uzodimma whom she described as her father for all his support. Onwudiwe who is known and addressed as Igolo by her close associates also extended her vote of thanks to Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, the wife of the state governor whom she also described as her mother and thanked her for her motherly advice and support.
Umuaka Times gathered that the main point of the press conference was the endorsement of Chief Harrison Nwadike of APC who has shown interest to run for House of Reps representing Nwangele, Nkwerri, Isu and Njaba NNIN, local government areas by Igolo herself. Igolo unequivocally announced that she was voluntarily withdrawing from the race in order to give her support to Chief Nwadike. She appealed to her supporters and political machinery to channel all their support to Chief Nwadike.
According to what she read out in the press conference, she said that her party, APC wants her to handle another assignment and due to what she described as party supremacy, she had no option than to oblige.
Attempts by Umuaka Times to decode the “new assignment” the APC gave to her failed to yield positive result as she did not respond to the question. As it stands, Igolo Njaba is still the honourable member representing Njaba LGA in Imo State House of Assembly.
