OPM pastor fulfills promise to slain Deborah’s family.

4 min read

Succor has finally arrived to the household of the Yakubus as the philanthropic man of God and the General Overseer of Port Harcourt based Omega Power Ministry OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has fulfilled the promise he made to the family after the brutal murder of their daughter, Miss Deborah Samuel Yakubu by some Islamic fundamentalists at Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto State. The lynching and setting ablaze of the body of the poor innocent girl was done over alleged blasphemy a couple of weeks ago. It can be recalled that shortly after the murder of the 22 year old student by her fellow students, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere promised to assist the family by giving the children of the bereaved family scholarships and relocating the family to Port Harcourt and empower them.

The promise made by the man of God came into reality precisely on May 16, 2022, when the family was flown to Port Harcourt courtesy of the OPM pastor from their Sokoto base. The amiable GO, was already waiting at the airport where he received the family personally with some top church members and some pressmen. The Apostle did not only fulfill his promise to the family, but he went further and added to the list of the promises by giving the family an estate of 14 flats, a “tokunbo” Toyota car and a foreign scholarship to the first son of the family while other siblings of the slain Deborah secured local scholarships.

While presenting the gifts and the change of ownership documents to the family, the charitable man of God told the family to cry no more as God has wiped out their tears. “Deborah has paid the price the pastor told the family”.

In one of his efforts to pacify the family and draw them closer to God, Apostle Chinyere took the family for a dinner where they had an exclusive interaction and fun at the prestigious Golden Tulip hotel in Port Harcourt. Many Nigerians who watched the viral video clip of the presentation of gifts by the man of God last week, applauded his kindness towards the poor in the country which has lasted over the years. A Port Harcourt resident who watched the video alongside with an Umuaka Times reporter regretted that of all the rich men of God in the country who watched the brutal killing of Deborah only one of them responded positively. “Can you see what our men of God are doing, collecting heavy tithe and responding to no needs of the people. All of them have condemned the murder of Deborah and none of them cared to help the family except Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere”.

At a recent event in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of a 11 free specialist hospitals built by the church in Port Harcourt, the man of God appealed to churches across the country to use their enormous resources to care for the poor and helpless. It is a confirmed fact that the charity works of the amiable man of God goes beyond the members of his church and the indigenes of his Abia State.

In a chat with pressmen, the OPM pastor wrote via his social media handle.

“Deborah’s parents agreed to relocate to Port Harcourt to begin a new life and in a video call, I offered Deborah’s immediate younger brother an educational scholarship abroad. “I also promised to give Deborah’s other siblings automatic scholarship to university level. In addition, free housing, job for the father and a business for the mother was promised to the family of Deborah. I donated a 14 flats mini estate and a Corolla car for Uber business to the family of the slain Deborah Samuel, fully sponsored through tithes and offerings in OPM church”.

For now, the Yakubus have moved into their new home in Port Harcourt, where they are reportedly learning and adapting to their new abode and environment. There are speculations in town that the family has been receiving visitors in form of sympathizers and those who want to be just friends and do some businesses with them. All thanks to Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the uncommon man of God of the present time.
