2300 soldiers expected at Imo governorship election.
1 min readIf the reports Umuaka Times came across last week were anything to go by, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and the Nigerian Army have reached a nexus to deploy not less than 2300 soldiers for the November 11, 2023 Imo governorship election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Prof. Silvia Agu, made this known to newsmen in Owerri a couple of days ago while presenting a speech during a two-day workshop for Imo state-based reporters courtesy of International Press Centre (IPC).
According to Professor Agu, the commission has totally prepared itself for the election and the 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze in the state, will fully cooperate with the electoral umpire to ensure a hitch-free election throughout the state.
The professor used the opportunity and appealed to journalists to assist in sensitizing Imo voters to come out massively and exercise their franchise during the election.
