2 min read

The rift between Hon Kingsley Echendu and Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo both PDP chieftains from the NINN Constituency in Orlu Senatorial Zone Imo State may have come to an end as Hon Kingsley Echendu issued a press statement last week, indicating his determination to work with Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo also known as OZB. OZB who is currently representing the NINN Constituency was dragged out by Hon Kingsley Echendu a couple of months ago. According to Echendu, OZB who was with the APC before he decamped to the PDP, was still maintaining his APC membership at the Federal House of Reps by the time he stood for the PDP primaries while seeking a re-election. Echendu had concluded his plans to seek the interpretation of the Electoral Act at the Supreme Court in view of what appeared like double registration with the two political parties by OZB.

In his press statement, Hon Kingsley Echendu acknowledged that he and OZB have come a long way and the existence of some internal crisis within the party. He further stated that his campaign organization, Together We Can Campaign Organization has decided to embrace peace and move the party forward. This simply means that Hon Echendu has decided to jettison the legal action he intended to institute against OZB. The two politicians are now working to secure victory for the PDP via Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo’s ticket.

Hon Echendu appealed to all his supporters to shift their support to Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo. He further used the opportunity and congratulated Hon Ozurigbo for a well deserved victory he scored during the PDP primary elections that gave him victory.

He concluded the press statement by announcing that the decision to end all forms of rifts was for the overall interest of the party in order to achieve victory at the pulls for the PDP.
