Akah Sigmite Club reunited with its old and new members.

A social club in Umuaka Municipal Council named Akah Sigmite Club on January 4th 2023, held its reunion party after over two decades of total silence. The event which was held at Greenland Hotel Eke Ibele attracted some old members of the club as well as her new members who graced the event with their immediate families.
From what Umuaka Times gathered during the event, guests started coming for the gala night reunion party a bit late due to some logistic reasons. This made the event to last longer than necessary.
Chief Uzoma Ahamefule, the president of the union while making his speech during the event thanked the members of the group for coming back together as one large family after close to 3 decades. The members who were present and other guests gave a big round of applause in appreciation of what the president said.
The chairman of the occasion who happens to be the patron of the club since inception in the person of Hon Chief Vitalis Uchendu extolled the virtues of the club. He demonstrated his happiness for the club over her resilience and individual achievements so far. He reminded the members that each of them has now become a responsible member of the larger Nigerian society and therefore charged them to always be the agents of the positive change they desire.
Comrade Uzoma Nnaji who was one of the guests at the event took the opportunity to discuss the benefits of identifying with social clubs like Akah Sigmite Club At the end of his lecture, there was a large ovation from the audience who seriously confirmed that the lecture delivered by Comrade Nnaji was indeed beneficial in today’s world.
Chief Chukwuemeka Ibegbulem, a new member of the organization and the Executive Director of Emelong Foundation while making his speech thanked all who attended the event and reassured the group of his commitment towards the development of the club.
The reunion of Akah Sigmite Club was a great reminder of life in the 80s and 90s as the disc joker, DJ, was exclusively playing the songs of that era when the members of the group were still in their 20s. Akah Sigmite Club has indeed bounced back with better ideas and new thinking.
