A high profile Akalite and businessman based in Mozambique, Chief Ikenna Egolu has emerged as the sole sponsor of the highly prestigious and exclusive Umuaka Times Merit Awards 2023 edition. Chief Egolu who is the Ogbuhurouzo 1 of Amiyi Akah emerged as the sole sponsor of the awards after due consultations by Umuaka Times among some highly placed Akalites in Nigeria and diaspora were made.
The 2023 edition of Umuaka Times awards is a special package with new entries. For example, this is the first time the newspaper is giving out posthumous awards to some departed sons and daughters of the community who have impacted positively on the community in diverse ways.
It can be recalled that the 2022 edition of Umuaka Times awards was exclusively sponsored by Chief Ugo Johnson Anyiam, a South African based legal luminary and businessman.
