In her own words, Yvonne-Mary is a seasoned self-taught contemporary visual artist. She hails from Umuaka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Her academic histories show that she holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Education (Accounting) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
In her profession, Ms Ekeoma Ahumaraeze adopts various media options in creating her art pieces; she uses pencil, pastel, oil and acrylic colours, biro and water colours to express her interest artistically. She also uses styles which are more of hyper realism and abstract to tell and promote the African and traditional relatable stories. Ekeoma captures relatable events and transfers them to her paper or canvas using her brushes or pencils.
Sources disclosed that she has participated in several art events, workshops and exhibitions one of which she won the Hitch-Canada Award, an International award affiliated to LIMCAF (Life in My City Art Festival). Her just concluded 3-days maiden solo art exhibition was on the 10th-12th May, 2024. It was an avenue and a step she the artist took to usher herself into the art world professionally.
