Tunde Bakare calls for the arrest of high profile pastors.

The general overseer of Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) headquartered in Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare has called for the Nigerian authorities to arrest the high profile pastors in Nigeria and send them to prisons. Bakare made the advocacy in a viral video which circulated over the internet a couple of days ago starting from last week. According to the controversial man of God, lawyer and politician, “All general overseers must go to prison. I am not joking. I said so in the open many years ago during the convention of Mike Okonkwo, I said lock Adeboye up, lock Kumuyi up, lock Orisajafor up, lock me up also. By the time we finish, Nigeria will change.”
After making the speech, there was uproar from the crowd he was addressing as they wondered why he made such a serious advocacy to the government. Hear his defence.
“I have a reason for saying so. In First Kings chapter 4, I know I will be quoted because I am ready for their war. If revolution does not begin in the church, it cannot spread. If it does not begin in the mosque it cannot spread.”
The moment the man of God made the statement, the atmosphere of the gathering became electrified and Bakare threw the final bombshell: “I am telling you, except those institutions change, Nigeria will never change. They control the souls and minds of millions of people…begin from your church and your mosque. Ask your leaders where they are getting the money they are spending lavishly from.”
Bakare further reminded the audience that parents must be accountable to their children.
He categorically told them to carry stones to their next service as December and January will be very late. Bakare passionately urged Christians and Muslims to start the revolution now.
Tunde Bakare, a pro-democracy activist and a prophetic pastor who read law at the University of Lagos has been among the Nigerian men of God who have been under heavy criticisms since the advent of the present day democracy in Nigeria. According to many Nigerians who have so far dragged the man of God over his silence on the ugly political developments in Nigeria under the present APC led Federal Government of Nigeria.
It can be recalled that Pastor Tunde Bakare conveyed the Save Nigeria Group about 12 years ago when the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan increased the pump price of petroleum products. Many Nigerians today seem to have lost confidence in the man of God following what many have described as his silent support of the present day Federal Government of Nigeria. A conversation Umuaka Times monitored from the Nairaland Forum titled, Where Is Save Nigeria Group, a commentator aptly wrote: “I used to be a member but i stopped immediately the convener, Tunde Bakare went into politics.
Thought the group is there to speak out for the masses, not to give power to themselves.
I don’t get messages for meetings again (can’t say why).”
From the look of things, the revolution Pastor Bakare has advocated for may indeed come as soon as expected as many Christians in Nigeria have so far lost confidence in their pastors. The pastors who live high profile lifestyles with their private jets have been accused of abandoning the gospel as they now preach only financial prosperity gospel.
