The family of Late Chief Anthony Obasi Ahamefule of Umuakachi, Isiorji-Akah, Umuaka, in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, has announced the funeral arrangements for their beloved father, brother and friend, who died at the age of 74. According to the funeral announcement released by the family, the burial ceremony will take place on Friday, November 27, 2026, when relatives, friends, well-wishers and members of the Umuaka community will gather to pay their last respects to the deceased.
Umuaka Times gathered that the funeral activities will commence with a lying-in-state at 9:00 a.m. at his compound, Chief Anthony Obasi Ahamefule’s Compound, Umuakachi, Isiorji-Akah, Umuaka. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Umuaka, Isiorji-Akah. Interment will take place immediately after the church service at his compound.
The family has appealed to friends, well-wishers, relatives and the entire Umuaka community to identify with them during the funeral ceremonies through their presence, prayers and support as they bid farewell to their departed patriarch. They expressed appreciation for the love and solidarity already extended to the family and welcomed the support of all those who wish to honour the memory of their beloved father.
For those travelling from Owerri or Orlu, the direction to the funeral venue is as follows: Stop at AforUmuaka Junction along the Orlu-Owerri Road and take Union Road (Umuaka-IsuNjaba Road). Proceed to Umuakachi Road through AmaNnanyi Fidelis Junction, continue through UkwuEbelebe and AmaochaUmuakachi until you arrive at the compound of Late Chief Anthony Obasi Ahamefule.
