New Officials Elected as G-87 Holds General Elections.

Saturday 18 September 2025 was a great day for the members of G-87, a group of Old Boys’ Association that graduated from the famous High School Umuaka in Njaba LGA of Imo State in 1987. The day in question was the day the group held her general elections where some members were elected to direct the affairs of the organization which has her members domiciled around the world.

Umuaka Times special correspondents who monitored the electoral exercise which was held online last week, due to the fact that most of the members of G-87 live outside Nigeria, reported that the entire process from preparations to the main exercise, vote counting and result declaration were highly successful and commendable.

By the time the returning officer announced the result of the exercise by 8pm on the same day, the following members of the organizations were elected. President, Mr Chinedu Iwudike, Vice President, Mr Ifeanyi Okorowu, Secretary General, Mr Charles Nwahajioke and Assistant Secretary General, Mr Bartholomew Duru. Others include: Financial Secretary, Mr. Okey Onyerikam and the Public Relations Officer, Mr Uchenna Amadike.

After the declaration, the US based president of the organization Mr Harrison Chinedu Iwudike delivered his maiden speech as the president of the organization and promised that he and his team would do their best to make sure that the new men in power would uphold the mission of G-87.

A member of the group Mr Uche Iwuchukwu who called Umuaka Times from his base in Mozambique used the opportunity to thank and congratulate the new officials of and wished them well on their political sojourn.

The new officials have since resumed duties and they will patrol the affairs of the great G-87 for the next 2 years. The new officials pledged to do their best respectively and collectively in giving back to the great institution that produced them over three decades ago.
