Intl. Org. of United Volunteers consoles Amb Anokwute over mother’s passage.

Umuaka Times reports that Amb. Cosmos Yahzitere Okoh, President of the International Organization of United Volunteers, has extended condolences to Vice President Amb. Anokwute McDonald on the passing of her mother, Mrs. Lucy Akubanihe Anokwute (Nee Nsorom), a woman known as Woman of Substance during her lifetime.

In his condolence message, Amb.Okoh said, “Indeed, we were thrilled by her generous lifestyle who not only took care of her motherly responsibilities but cared for various people in need. Truly, this lifestyle is explicit demonstration of voluntarism that we represent. Today, we join her family, relations, friends and well-wishers to bid her farewell.”

The International Organization of United Volunteers joins in mourning the loss of Mrs. Anokwute, celebrating her legacy of kindness and generosity. The late Mrs Lucy Akubanihe Anokwute hails from the linage of Anokwute of Okparaku N’Okparaji family of Umuduruorji Acharaji Akah in UmuakaNjaba LGA Imo State. She was buried on November 28, 2025 in her husband’s family compound.

Survived to mourn her include numerous brothers, sisters, uncles and more especially her children Mr Emeka Victor Anokwute, who is based in Nigeria. Prince Anthony Anokwute based in Israel. Mr Mezie Anokwute, a Warri Delta State based and Madam Promise Iheoma Mbikpo, Lagos based.

Others include Mr. Tobenna Anokwute a businessman based in Nigeria and lastly South African based Ambassador Donald Anokwute. Ambassador Anokwute is a staunch member of many organizations including the Supreme Eze in Council South Africa, Akah Aborigines South Africa where he served as her former chairman and the International Organization of United Volunteers (IOUNV) Worldwide. Ambassador Anokwute is the current International Vice President of this prestigious organization.

Umuaka Times reliably gathered that the late Mrs Lucy Akubanihe Anokwute also had some stepchildren who are 8 in number. They include Mr. Uzoms Anokwute (the popular Umuaka footballer and Enugu Rangers former player and Uloma Joy Anokwute. There are also Miss Chinaemezu Precious Anokwute (former Miss Umuaka) and the head of grandchildren.  Other grandchildren include Oby, Chioma, Happiness, Ogadimma, Oluchi and 30 grandchildren.

Highly dependable sources disclosed to Umuaka Times that those survived to mourn the amiable Woman of Substance are her numerous brothers, sisters, uncles, and especially her children: Mr. Emeka Victor Anokwute (Nigeria), Prince Anthony Anokwute (Israel), Mr. Mezie Anokwute (Warri, Delta State), Madam Promise Iheoma Mbikpo (Lagos), Mr. Tobenna Anokwute (Nigeria), and Ambassador Donald Anokwute (South Africa).

Ambassador Anokwute, a staunch member of organizations like Supreme Eze in Council South Africa, Akah Aborigines South Africa (former chairman), and International Organization of United Volunteers (IOUNV) Worldwide, currently serves as International Vice President of IOUNV.
