Hilltop Primary School’s Second Phase Renovation Kicks Off.

The Hilltop Primary School and High School in Uba Umuaka Autonomous Community are undergoing an aggressive renovation, thanks to the financial vibrancy and benevolence of the men and women of the community who have taken the task upon themselves to rehabilitate the schools.

Umuaka Times reporters gathered that after completing the first phase of the project which was fencing the 40-plot premises before June 2025 – the community launched the second phase on Wednesday December 3, 2025.
The event which was held at the premises of the school brought together the community leaders, chiefs, the schools’ board members who brainstormed with a conclusion to complete the project at record time.
Chief Lawrence Ezike, representing HRM Eze H.I.A. Ojinnaka, the royal father of the community, led the opening prayers for the event. Honourable Ernest Nwawuba, the President-General took time and presented his opening remarks. He thanked the Uba Umuaka community members for their efforts in advancing the renovation project against all odds.
Highly dependable sources told Umuaka Times that the groundbreaking ceremony for the ultra-modern classroom blocks at Hilltop Primary School (HPS), Umuaka, marked the start of a new era for the community in terms of quality education. The event, attended by key stakeholders and dignitaries in Uba, was filled with hope and optimism when each of the dignitaries made a speech.
US based attorney and the principal consultant, Nwachukwu Law Offices Atlanta, Georgia USA, Chief Chris Nwachukwu, who is the chairman of the Fundraising Committee, during his speech assured the community members that the structure when completed would boast world-class facilities, built to stand the test of time. Engineer Emmanuel Nwokeoji Igbokwuwe another high profile indigene, confirmed that all necessary government approvals needed for the legitimization of the project had already been secured by the community.
The Parish Priest at St Mary’s Catholic Church Umuaka, Rev. Father Egbuogu, also took his time, prayed and blessed the site, asking God for uninterrupted resources and protection for Uba residents. Ernest Nwawuba, President General of Umuaka, emphasized the need for peace, unity, and progress, urging contributions to complete the project.
HRM Eze HIA Ojinnaka (Osinobi IV), represented by Chief Lawrence Ezike, promised community guardianship of the facilities, praying for contributors and non-contributors alike. The ceremony concluded with site clearing, paving the way for construction.
As the second phase of the project picks up, heavy financial contributions are being recorded almost daily. Some donors who did not donate during the first phase are now rushing and jostling for space to make their donations for the godly project. Following the pace the project started with, it is indeed expected that by December 2026, a new Hilltop Primary School and High School Umuaka will be commissioned.
