Umuaka Times Report:  Diamond Princess Academy Umuaka Nursery and Basic Section marked her Cultural Day in grand style on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, with a vibrant carnival that staff, learners, and parents described as a huge success. According to Umuaka Times reporters on ground, both staff and learners participated actively in the event. The school compound was a burst of colour as pupils and teachers turned up in different cultural attires representing Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups. Each class took the stage with unique presentations ranging from short speeches on cultural heritage to energetic traditional dance displays. The performances drew applause from parents and visitors who filled the school hall.

A highlight of the day was the food segment. Learners were served garri and egusi soup, a meal that sparked joy and laughter among the pupils and perfectly resonated with the cultural theme of the carnival. Speaking after the event, the school noted its commitment to preserving values while embracing the future.

“We will continue to celebrate cultural diversity and unity at Diamond Princess Academy Umuaka. Technology is a watchword here as we have a Technology Club as one of our STEAM clubs. In week 3 this term, learners were actively engaged in creating technology prototypes,” the management told Umuaka Times. The academy reaffirmed its mission: “At Diamond Princess Academy Umuaka, we are raising a total child that will compete globally.”The graduating class added a special message for parents, educating the audience on “PARENT” as an acronym for raising responsible learners: P – Partner: Parents should always partner with the school.

A – Attend: Parents should attend school functions and meetings because their presence shows that education matters.

R – Read: Parents should read with their children 15 minutes every day to build vocabulary.

E – Encourage: Parents should encourage good grades and effort.

N – Nurture: Parents should nurture good habits at home, especially respect, sleep time, and homework time.

T – Teach: Parents should teach roles and responsibilities, starting from home before the classroom. In conclusion, the pupils stressed that when parents Partner, Attend, Read, Encourage, Nurture and Teach, they will raise confident and responsible learners. Umuaka Times will continue to bring updates on Diamond Princess Academy’s activities as the term progresses.
