Judging from the circumstances of his untimely death, any Akalite who understands the sociology of Umuaka, especially with motorcycle boys, would have understood from the onset that August 6th 2022, would be like no other day in the community as Mr Chikwado Precious Meshach Uzoho, popularly known as PC Onuojo was being laid to eternal rest.

When Umuaka Times arrived at the mortuary of Umuaka Community Hospital for the coverage, several motorcycle boys were already waiting for the ambulance to come and carry the remains of Onuojo. Almost each of them was armed with a bottle or can of hot drink and some other cigarette-like substances suspected to be SK, weed and more. Each of them was angry and seriously ready to unleash terror on anyone who dared to control them.

Soon, the ambulance arrived and off the motorcade took to Ibele through Afor Umuaka. When they got to Afor Umuaka, the Orlu Owerri Road was blocked by the rampaging and negatively charged motorcycle boys. The blockage lasted for over 25 minutes. Market women, okada riders and many other people used the opportunity and came out to catch a glimpse of the final journey of Onuojo whose elder brother Anene murdered in cold blood on Thursday April 21, 2022 after a little disagreement in the family.

Trust Umuaka market women and their soft emotions, they all started to wail, and curse Anene over his wickedness. As all these were happening, young car owners and motorcycle boys were displaying their driving skills and expertise on the road. Umuaka Times observed that some of them fell down on the process and sustained minor injuries.

The journey then took off from Afor Umuaka to Ibele with several stop-overs, destructions and burn-fires. When the motorcade got to the Uzoho’s family house in Ibele village, it was as if the devil had made a triumphant stop-over in the community as reckless driving, destruction of economic trees and violence took centre stage. About three motorcycle boys lost control and fell down and sustained some injuries as well. About three times, heavy fighting broke out among motorcycle boys and those trying to control them and persuade them to behave well. All pleas fell on deaf ears. It was at this juncture that the Umuaka Times reporter who was covering the event left the venue in anger.

Further findings made by Umuaka Times had it that normalcy later returned and the interment finally took place.
