Agba for burial on December 19.

Popular commercial motorcycle operator Mr Uzoma Duruchukwu popularly known as Agba is to be buried on Tuesday, 19th December, 2023 in the family compound of Nze Duruchukwu Okwaraojiaku of Umuonyiriegbe Umuezikeoha in Uba Umuaka Ancient Kingdom.

Last week, the patriarch of the family, Chief Marcel Duruchukwu, an attorney at law and the Akajiugo of Umuaka issued a press statement concerning the burial arrangement of the deceased who was involved in a motorcycling accident with reckless motorcycle riders in Umuaka known as “motorcycle boys”.


From what Umuaka Times gathered, the accident took place on the day Mr Oluchi Ukarika, known as Arthur One Hand, a native of Amakor Autonomous Community, his wife and three children were being. Agba was hit by a motorcycle boy who was said to be high on alcohol. The motorcycle boy was a part of the motorcycle convoy that was accompanying the corpses of the late Arthur and his family home.

From the press statement issued by Chief Marcel Duru, there will be a requiem Mass by 10 am at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Umuaka. After the Mass, the internment of the remains of Mr Uzoma Duruchukwu follows immediately at Duruchukwu’s compound Umuezikoha Uba Umuaka.

Umuaka Times gathered that the late Agba left behind his wife, Mrs Ogechi Duru, six children and a lot of other family relations and friends.

Following the sudden death of Agba which was highly avoidable, Umuaka Times plans to lead a call for the authorities in Umuaka to ban motorcycle boys from driving their motorcycles anytime a corpse is being conveyed for internment in Umuaka.
