Akalite emerges the Best Overall Graduating Student at OAU.

It was an unending atmosphere of joy, ovation and deep celebrations at the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife yesterday December 11, 2021 when an easy going student of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department Obafemi Awolowo University, Mr Ohanekwu Favour Ebuka, literally went home in a trailer load of awards and honours as he successfully emerged the Overall Best Graduating Student in his Department – Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Technology and Overall Best Graduating Student in the entire Graduating set for the year 2021 academic year. The event which took place at the Amphi-theatre Hall of the University saw the student, Mr Ohanekwu Favour Ebuka renamed “Ebuka the Genius” by some of the guests at the event.
Further inquiries by Umuaka Times confirmed that “Ebuka the Genius” is from Obeakpu Autonomous Community and he lives in Ibadan with his father etc. The father, Bishop Emmanuel Ohanekwu is a pastor in one of the Pentecostal churches in Ibadan. He was full of joy and praises to God as he shared the good news with his friends, church members and other yesterday.
At the close of event yesterday, many people including students and top university management team all struggled to take photographs with the “Ebuka the Genius”. An Akalite who witnessed the event but did not want his name mentioned concluded that, Ebuka is a fresh reminder that there is still hope in Umuaka for the future. “How I wish all the motorcycle boys will see this news and have a rethink about themselves.”
