Another Akalite Ugonna Okoro, graduates with First Class Honours in UK.

There was heavy celebration in UmueleAmazanoNjaba LGA Imo State and as Miss Ugonna Okoro, a native of UmuehiriUmueleAmazano, successfully graduated with First Class Honours in Pharmacy from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom.Umuaka Timescorrespondents in London confirmed that the graduation ceremony was held at the university’s premises on 30th July 2026 where Miss Okoro joined hundreds of graduating students around the world in celebrating the successful completion of their academic programs.The remarkable achievement marks the culmination of four years of intensive academic study and places the young scholar among the university’s outstanding graduates.

In an emotional appreciation message released shortly after the ceremony, Miss Precious Ugonna Okoro attributed her success entirely to God, expressing profound gratitude for His faithfulness throughout her academic journey.

“I give all glory, honour and praise to God for this milestone,” she said.

“God has seen me through every challenge, every uncertainty, every victory and every season. His undiluted mercy, unfailing love, favour, compassion, protection and faithfulness have sustained me.”

Reflecting on her years of studying abroad, she acknowledged that living away from home was not always easy but said God’s presence never failed her.

“Living away from home for several years has not always been easy, but God has remained constant. For every door He opened, every prayer He answered, every moment He carried me when I felt weak, I simply say, ‘Thank You, Lord.'”

Miss Okoro described earning her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy as a testimony that faith, perseverance and the support of family and friends can make seemingly impossible dreams become reality.She paid passionately glowing tribute to her parents for their sacrifices, unwavering love and constant prayers.

“To my beloved parents, thank you for your endless sacrifices, unwavering love, constant encouragement and countless prayers. I have never taken your prayers for granted, and today I am living proof that prayers truly work. This achievement belongs to you as much as it belongs to me.”

Okoro also appreciated her younger siblings for their encouragement, saying their love continually reminded her that she was never alone despite the distance separating them. She further thanked members of her extended family, relatives and friends across the world for their prayers, words of encouragement, phone calls and acts of kindness throughout her university education. She equally expressed gratitude to the lecturers and academic staff of the University’s Department of Pharmacy for equipping her with the knowledge, confidence and professional skills needed for the future.

Special appreciation also went to the University’s Student Support Services for their professionalism and willingness to assist students whenever challenges arose. She reserved special praise for her personal tutor and project supervisor, describing the mentor as a constant source of encouragement from her first day at the university until the successful completion of her final-year project.

According to her, every encounter throughout her university years, whether pleasant or challenging, contributed to shaping her character and broadening her perspective. Explaining why she chose Pharmacy as a profession, Miss Okoro said she has always been fascinated by the science behind medicines and is passionate about improving lives through healthcare.
