Another flood disaster hits Umuaka for the second time.

In less than three weeks, after heavy flood devastated some parts of Umuaka community, the community has recorded yet another flood which also wreaked havoc in the households of some of the villagers. Umuele, Uba and Obinwanne communities suffered serious flood invasion when it rained several hours non-stop a couple of weeks ago. By the time the rain which started sometime around 11 pm on the fateful night stopped, the flood has found its ways to some homes and even pushed down some houses in Uba and Obinwanne communities. The rain stopped around 5 am the following day, thereby causing damages of millions of Naira.
Last week, it rained heavily again and many families were also helplessly left to face the heavy realities the flood has once again caused. Although there is no record of any house falling this time around but goods, personal and household items were once again damaged.
The first flood which made news headlines across the state attracted the attention of the Sole Administrator of Njaba LGA, Chief Vitalis Obi and the Imo House of Assembly member representing Njaba LGA Hon Ozioma Worship. During their visit, the two politicians took time to hold talks with the persons whose houses collapsed. They made a promise to fix the houses but too bad that from the day they left the community, no one has heard from them again till date. To worsen the situation, another flood disaster has just occurred.
From the time the second flood occurred, no government official has deemed it fit to visit the community or to redeem the promise made previously by the duo of Njaba SOLAD and house member.
For now Umuaka people are helplessly in search of a solution to fight the flood disaster which may most likely occur for the third time.
