2 min readAce Master of Ceremonies, comedian and top media personality Mazi Dona Ijeoma has expressed deep shock and emotional pains with total submissions to the will of God over the sudden death of Dame Nneoma Nwereugo Cathy Odueze. Mazi Ijeoma who described the late Mrs Odueze as his second mother also confirmed that the woman of substance successfully led Umuaka women and Orlu women to a greater height under several capacities. “Mama was indeed the mother of mothers and she epitomized the world famous Mother Theresa in our own locality.”
In addition to his verdict on the late Dame Cathy Odueze, Mazi Ijeoma went further and disclosed to Umuaka Times that the death of Dame Cathy Odueze still looks like a nightmare to him and he seriously hopes that he will one day wake up from the nightmare and thank God that that the whole episode is a nightmare indeed.
In an emotionally laden voice, Mazi Ijeoma told Umuaka Times that, “From the early 80s till date, she fed me uncountable times from her pot of soup.”
When asked to explain further, he said that the woman in question was his “nneochie” (maternal grandmother) who showed unconditional love to him at several fora. “She lived a life worthy of emulation life. I urged those she left behind to maintain her legacy. I urged her children and the Umuaka women she led to continue from where she stopped. Let them continue to do good things, help the poor, the less-privileged, widows and widowers.”
Mazi Dona Ijeoma in his conclusion, prayed to God to grant the soul of Dame Cathy Odueze an eternal rest.
