Chief Ikenna Duru loses mother; burial date fixed.

American based Akalite from Umuele Amazano in Njaba LGA Imo State Dr Ikenna Duru has announced the death of his mother, the late Mrs Ezinne Louisa Ada Duru (nee Nnaji). From the press statement which was issued by the family of the late Sir Vernatius Nwakaibeya Duru of Ụmụduruemerou Ụmụezeala Ụmụele Amazanọ of Njaba LGA, Imo State and signed by Chief Ikenna Duru, the octogenarian woman was called by her creator at the age of 81.
According to the press statement, the late Ezinne Louisa Duru who has been described as “indefatigable and iconic wife, mother, aunt, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, the sad event took place on December 10, 2023.
Umuaka Times local affairs correspondents who visited Umuele last week confirmed that the burial of the late Ezinne Louisa Duru will be held on Friday April 5, 2024 in the famous Vernatius Nwakaibeya Duru’s family compound of Ụmụduruemerou Ụmụezeala Ụmụele Amazanọ.
The late Ezinne Louisa Duru was survived by her son, Chief Ikenna Duru whom most of his friends and close associates address as “Hon. Imperial High Chief, Ambassador (Dr) Enyioha Ikenna Fortune Duru”.
Others are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. For now, Umuaka Times which is the official newspaper of the burial ceremony can confirm that several committees have so far been set up by the friends and family of Chief Ikenna Duru for the purpose of organizing a befitting burial for the woman who was a devoted christian mother and top community leader.
More announcements will be made as the date draws nearer.
