Danjuma urges Nigerians to defend themselves.

2 min read

As killings by Fulani terrorists across several states in Nigeria continue to escalate, many prominent Nigerians have called on Nigerians to defend themselves against all odds. One of such Nigerians who made the call recently was the retired former Minister of Defence Lt. Gen. T.Y. Danjuma. The security expert spoke on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at a public gathering held in the city of Takum in Taraba State. The General who expressly pointed out that the government does not have all it takes to protect the citizens cited the killings that took place in Benue State as a standing example that Nigerians should start making efforts to protect themselves.

It can be recalled that about 5 years ago, when T.Y Danjuma told Nigerians to protect themselves, many more people from then till now have been killed mercilessly by Fulani terrorists. He reminded the gathering that his warning is still relevant till date.

“The warning I gave some years ago is still as valid today as it was then. Nigerians must rise and defend themselves. We cannot continue to sit and watch while bandits, terrorists, and criminal gangs massacre our people unchecked.”

Danjuma, who hails from Takum expressed deep worries over the inability of Federal Government of Nigeria to protect her citizens. “It is now very clear that the government alone cannot protect us. We must stand up and defend ourselves, our families, and our lands before these criminals overrun the entire country.”

In the recent time, it appears as if all the demons on hellfire were imported to Nigeria to cause mayhem and destruction of lives and properties of Nigerians.

Killings have so far taken turns in Edo State, Delta, Enugu, Plateau and other cities in Nigeria. A lot of prominently placed Nigerians has told Nigerians to defend themselves but so far no tool was provided to them to defend themselves. Criminals and terrorists of Fulani extraction who come with sophisticated weapons and AK47 are always armed and nobody worries them.

For now Nigerians are still living in fear as the Fulanis keep coming.
