Declan Dire to share 50 bags of rice to each community in Umuaka.
2 min readUS based Isiozi Akah high chief, philanthropist, community integration advocate and a friend of the poor, Chief Declan Ibezimako Dire will on Friday 14 January distribute 500 bags of 10kg rice to widows and the poorest of the poor in the entire Umuaka Municipal Council otherwise known as Aka Ebe Iri. High Chief Dire who disclosed this to Umuaka Times in a special interview last week, confirmed that every machinery has successfully been put in place in order to achieve total success during the food program exercise.
While holding talks with newsmen from Umuaka Times, Chief Declan Ibezimako Dire who goes by the chieftaincy title of Ariri Eri Mba 1 of Umuaka disclosed that all the presidents-general in Umuaka have been informed about this development. High Chief Dire who happens to be one of the youngest philanthropists East of the Niger told Umuaka Times that “The sum total of 50 persons made up of widows, orphans and others with poor sources of income will benefit from the food program in each autonomous community.”
Further inquiries from Umuaka Times showed that each autonomous community will submit 45 names through her PG and the list will include the name of the PG while each royal father will provide 5 names of his choice making it 50 in all.
The date the rice giveaway will be held has been scheduled on Friday 14 February 2025. The venue is Hilltop Primary School Uba Umuaka and time is 9 am.
Chief Dire also took the opportunity and appealed to all the presidents-general in Umuaka to endeavour to be present during the program for proper identification of beneficiaries. They PGs were also advised to inform the beneficiaries of the giveaway on time for them to be present during the event as no arrangement was made for collective collection of the giveaways. The president general of Uba Umuaka Autonomous Community was last week appointed to coordinate the program among his colleagues.
