Dr Emeka Nwokedi Conferred With Chieftaincy Title.
4 min readA US based Akalite and an Eye Physician (Optometrist) licensed in the State of Texas, Dr Emeka Nwokedi has been conferred with a high chieftaincy title of Akaraka Sinachi 1 of Ibele Autonomous Community in Umuaka Ancient Kingdom by the royal father of the community, HRH Eze Rufus Anyanwu, the Achazie the Forth of Ibele. After the pronouncement was made by the royal father yesterday being December 28, 2023, Dr Nwokedi then became High Chief Emeka Nwokedi, the Akaraka Sinachi 1 of Ibele. From what Umuaka Times gathered, it was not only Dr Emeka Nwokedi that was bestowed with the chieftaincy title of High Chief on the eventful day, Other high profiled Akalites from Ibele such as High Chief Benji Iheme, High Chief Chidi Appear Osuagwu, High Chief Eddie Nwokedi, High Chief Oliver Iheme, High Chief Sam Osuoha, High Chief Justus Osuoha, High Chief Charles Osuh, High Chief Chibuike Ugwuegbu, High Chief Chidi Onwubuariri, High Chief Livi Duru were also given the prestigious chieftaincy honours.
High Chief Emeka Nwokedi who came along side with some family and friends disclosed to Umuaka Times that he received the title with love and appreciation and went further to thank the royal father of the community for finding him worthy for the highly exalted traditional position. He also thanked all the friends and family members that graced the occasion on the conferment and the VIP dinner he organized for family and friends to appreciate the honour.
The coronation event which started around 10 am had many guests who were already seated before the royal father arrived at the palace. When he eventually arrived, the guests stood up and greeted him in the usual traditional way of greeting a king, the next thing that followed shortly was the presentation of kola nuts and some opening remarks, the royal father then went straight to the business of the day.
The event which did not last long has been described by some indigenes of the community as a worthy affair considering the quality of persons who received the titles. Shortly after the installation of the chieftaincy titles on the deserving indigenes, High Chief Nwokedi and his friends drove home for the VIP dinner, entertainment and reception which were held in his country home.
The reception which was scheduled to start by 3.30pm had a lot of high profile Akalites in attendance, especially those living in the United States. When a reasonable number of guests had gathered, the master of the ceremony Mr Chris Iwuji and his assistant Mr Emma Okenwa were busy announcing the names of the top personalities who graced the occasion as they were arriving one after the other.
The arrival of HRH Eze Henry Ojinnaka was the climax of the arrival of the special guests who were invited for the event. The moment the MC was informed that Eze Ojinnaka was around, he made a special announcement that a royal father in the person of Eze Ojinnaka has arrived. He told the audience to stand up on their feet and welcome the Eze and they all did.
Another arrival which also attracted the attention of many was when the presence of the chairman of the occasion Chief Sanctus Orgazi, a Dallas based lawyer was announced. Guests who came from both far and near were all waiting for the chairman who came a bit late to the event. Shortly after his arrival, an opening prayer was said and the event fully kicked off. The greatest point of the event was the official ushering in of the new high chief and his wife whom he fondly describes as Chasis Diya.
The host of the event announced through the MC that he would like to be ushered in to the event with a traditional music and his request was instantly granted. As the couple was dancing and coming out, several high profile personalities joined them and serious spraying of Naira and US Dollar rented the air.
While making his opening speech, Dr Sanctus Orgazi, a US based attorney and the chairman of the event described High Chief Emeka Nwokedi as the best eye doctor in Dallas. He further told the audience that the chieftaincy title conferred on Dr Nwokedi was worthy and came at the right time.
After his speech, there was an unending supply of foods and drinks. Even before the chairman arrived, many guests had been properly cared for from the supply of food and drinks.
The installation of Chieftaincy title of Akaraka Sinachi on Dr Emeka Nwokedi and the reception that followed were welcomed by family and friends who know Dr Nwokedi properly.
When asked by Umuaka Times why he chose the name Akaraka Sinachi, the High Chief responded that he made a deep thinking on many things that happened in his life from when he was little till now and felt that the name Akaraka Sinachi summarizes them.
In the eyes of Umuaka Times, High Chief Emeka Nwokedi represents someone who came, who saw and eventually conquered.
