Dr Ken Nnaka mourns Clifford Ibe.
2 min readHigh profile Akalite and an American based legal luminary, Dr Kenneth Nnaka has expressed deep a shock over the sudden death of Mr Clifford Ibe who was also known as Ogbu Ebele. Dr Nnaka who described the death of the late Clifford Ibe as a nightmare he would pray never to befall him again, confirmed to Umuaka Times that he and some other Akalites did their best to save Mr Clifford Ibe when he was sick. “I was contacted when he was sick and I did the little I could by donating to his appeal fund. In fact, may be… I was the highest donor. All efforts were geared towards making sure he would live but God knows the best.”
Remembering their early days in Umuaka as students and members of Altar Boys Club ABC, Nnaka told Umuaka Times that he met Clifford Ibe for the first time during their days as Mass servers at St Mary;s Catholic Church Umuaka and a friendship started. “We were all like brothers then. Hero Nnaji, Festus Mbamara, Felix Mbamara, Darligton Ojy Onwukwe, Kingsley Nwokike, Chima Igwebuike and the late Samuel Iwuozo also known as Ogueri and many others were all members of the ABC.”
Dr Nnaka disclosed that each of them during that time had the ambition to become a Catholic priest including the late Clifford Ibe. He concluded by praying to God to receive his soul and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss. He eventually promised to pay a condolence visit to the Ibe family when he visits Nigeria in the nearest time possible.
